An update on the state of public higher education in Maine

On Thursday, March 2, 2017, MCCS President Derek Langhauser joined the leaders of the University of Maine System and Maine Maritime Academy to provide an update on the state of public higher education in Maine to a Joint Convention of the 128th Maine Legislature. With a declining population and work force, people in Aroostook County are looking at how they can bring more people here. Northern Maine Community College’s president is heading up a plan to bring together the services needed to welcome newcomers…"It’s imperative that we reach out to the rest of the world and say we’re here, we have a good quality of living, we have jobs available, and we have the ability to train people and put them to work."
